Alts.co is growing exponentially, and while that’s great, it’s become clear we need someone behind the scenes to do the yeoman’s work of keeping things running smoothly.
Ideally you’ve got a few years experience in a fast-paced fintech environment and are fluent in not just accounting but fund accounting. You’re exceptionally commercially oriented and aren’t afraid to speak up (and take action!) when you see something that could be done better, cheaper, or more profitably.
You must have experience working remotely and be comfortable in your own skin.
The Role
As a Finance and Operations Manager at Alts.co, you will play a critical role in the backbone of our company, ensuring that our financial and operational practices are not just robust but also innovative and aligned with our growth trajectory. Your expertise in fund accounting, coupled with a commercially-oriented mindset, will be instrumental in driving profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management and Strategy: Oversee the company's financial operations, including fund accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with our growth objectives.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement improvements in our processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability. Your proactive approach to problem-solving will be key in streamlining operations.
- Content production and editing: We send 4m emails a month to our community, and you’ll be a key contributor to the editing, sending, and tracking process.
- In the weeds operation: Roll up your sleeves and get into the weeds of operations. If it can be outsourced cheaply and effectively, do that. Otherwise, get stuck in.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the organization's financial practices are in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Lightweight Account Management: Assist with light sales-related tasks, such as sending invoices & follow-ups, and coordinating onboarding.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key financial advisor to the leadership team, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and strategic planning. Your ability to communicate complex financial information concisely and effectively is critical.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: At least three years of experience in a fast-paced fintech or financial services environment, with a strong focus on fund accounting and operations.
- Expertise: Fluent in accounting and fund accounting principles, with a strong commercial orientation and an exceptional ability to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptability: Experience working remotely and comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A proactive and flexible approach to work is essential.
- Strategic Mindset: Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic perspective on business and financial planning.
